[...i ate #186] Super Star Candies

My wonderful coworkers put a consolation package together for new big brother JJ so that he didn’t feel so left out with all the stuff and attention that LL has been receiving. Amidst toys and books were candies, of which was included the Super Mario Brothers’ licensed banana flavoured “Super Star Candies” which come in a neat little yellow star shaped tin which looks like the stars from the video game. JJ shared them with me, they’re sweet and tasty but I feel like I’m eating the big tin star’s babies.

[...learned #186] the ol’ changeroo

Out of necessity I learned how to change a baby’s diaper on LL’s first day home. It was a bit of a disaster though as she peed while I had her butt lifted up to take her dirty diaper out from under her, making a mess all over herself. Then as I scrabled to get some wipes and wipe her down, she pooped out some more meconium. As she was half naked and wet, she started crying, and she flails about while she cries, and her feet got loose, and soon her legs were all in the meconium she’s just shat out, and soon it was all over me. She was an unhappy, dirty baby and I was an equally unhappy, dirty papa. But I got her cleaned up, diaper changed, and a new jumper put on her. Subsequent changes find her very unhappy, but not nearly as catastrophic.

[...consumed all new #186] Doctor Who

Since Tennant took over the role, I’ve not actually watched more than two episodes (after watching all if Eccleston’s “first” season). I was surprised to find that Britain’s heir to French and Saunders’ femme comedy crown, Catherine Tate, is/was a regular sidekick. A mega-star in the UK, it’s interesting that she’d take a supporting role, but I imagine its to gain the international exposure that Doctor Who can provide.

The episode was a pretty good one, about the human race’s empire in the 4200 and their wicked enslavement of an entire species bred into servitude. The Doctor and his companion investigate into the enslavement and all too easily free the across the galaxy, naturally (really, this should spawn a war of sort between those who wish them to be free and those not wanting to see any change).
